Jetsetter Capital’s 10-minute Steps to Start your Best Year Ever
So, the New Year is here, although you may have already started breaking resolutions it is not too late to make some more or even start making your list. Here is a primer to make resolutions that actually stick. Grab a something to write with and on, as studies show completions rates multiple when ideas, thoughts and goals are written down. Take some time under each step and dig deep and be true to YOURSELF.
1st step is What. What do you want? Surprisingly most people do not know. Fame, money, a new car, happiness, vacation in Hawaii, mindfulness, a killer body……
2nd step is Why. Why do you want this? Will it improve you or your families lives physically, materially, or spiritually? Answering these questions will really help you grow by defining what you need.
3rd step is Pain. How much pain and inconvenience are you prepared to go through to get what you want. Are you determined enough?
4th step is Goal. Set your goal, write it down along with your time frame, and post it all over where you will see it every day!!! Set yourself up with some everyday triggers to keep you on task, i.e.: daily alarms, emails to yourself, sticky notes around your house etc.
5th step is Plan. This is the most overlooked part of goal setting and why many goals are never fulfilled. Formulating and examining a plan to reach and complete your resolutions is the most important step to completion. A calendar can be used to set up more formal dates and keep track of your efforts and progress. Seeing progress and work towards your goal will also help motivate you to keep it up!
